A True Bed and Breakfast in the Heart of Munich

Hotel Laimer How Review Munich

Hotel Laimer Hof is a family operated hotel. The hotel was originally opened in 1886 as a bustling beer house, serving upwards of 600 drinks per night. The restaurant has since been turned into a very home-like bed and breakfast.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Laimer Hof and would highly recommend anyone to stay there. You will not find better service anywhere else in Munich. Sebastian truly went the extra mile to make sure we were taken excellent care of while visiting. Hotel Laimer Hof is a dying breed, a true bed and breakfast experience with service to match. They go as far as offering free umbrellas to guests on rainy days, or bikes for sunny ones. After taking into consideration the location, room, service, and breakfast; our overall review of Hotel Laimer Hof is a 9.25/10.

Location

9.5/10 – Off the beaten path, but close to everything you need.

Hotel Laimer Hof is situated in the heart of Munich’s Nymphenburg district, nestled in a beautiful neighborhood only two blocks from the world-famous Nymphenburg Palace. The palace grounds are absolutely stunning, and a morning walk or jog is a must. You’ll find easy access to public transportation (bus, tram, and fast train) and a number of restaurants all within walking distance.

Room

8.5/10 – The hotel has a 3-star status, so expect some older decor, which gives it the BnB charm.

Hotel Laimer Hof offers 23 rooms with three being family rooms. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and relaxing. The bed was the plushest and cloud-like we slept in during our entire three-country trip. Our room had cable TV, a mini-fridge, two sofas, a writing desk, and a newly renovated en-suite bathroom.

This bed was so comfy! Having a bed that is comfortable makes all the difference when traveling. Oh, and we got yummy gummy bears upon arrival.

Service

10/10 – Second best service we have ever had. (First was a hotel in Bali, where we got massages in the jungle. it’s going to be hard to beat that place).

Hotel Laimer Hof offers service that is top-notch. We felt like we were staying in a five-star hotel. The hotel manager, Sebastian, is the friendliest and most accommodating person we have ever encountered during a hotel stay. Sebastian’s passion for his hotel and his guest’s experience is contagious. Even the night manager, Jan, was outstanding when giving directions, recommendations for dinner, and great to sit and chat with after a long day of living the tourist life. Be sure to ask Jan about his worldly travels, he’s been to a lot of really amazing places.

Breakfast

9/10 – Options for everyone and excellent service from the staff

The breakfast at Hotel Laimer Hof has something for everyone. You’ll find lots of different options for bread, including pretzels. How can you turn down a pretzel for breakfast when in Munich, you just can’t! The yummy yogurt, fruit, meat and cheeses, a large selection of juices. They pretty much have enough food out for breakfast that you will stay full well into the afternoon.

  2. Aww this looks like such a lovely place, you can feel it’s charm just from your pictures. I can imagine the history of the place could be felt walking around the corridors, I’m sure those walls have some stories to tell from it’s beer house days. The next time I’m in Munich I’ll have to give this place a try.

  3. Its a simple stay with everything one needs and similar to the kind we usually stay it. I love the building from outsid, quite charming! I’m sure it’s a place I’d stay at😁
